A kind man named Clim (I think) loaded up my plate with super delicious food. Would not even have known the fried chicken was vegan. Whatever you normally eat - vegan, meat, rocks, whatever - try this next. I’ll definitely be back, and they’re not even that close to me.

SoulKofa Vegan Health Food is the real deal. This spot brings the full soul food vibe without the meat, and you honestly don’t miss it. The menu is stacked: • Jerk “chicken” (soy-based) that’s seasoned right and hits the spice. • Mock oxtail made from jackfruit — tender, flavorful, and legit comforting. • Stew “chicken” (also soy) with a rich, savory sauce. • Fried oyster mushrooms that crunch like chicken. • Fried drumsticks that look and feel like the real thing. • Sides: rice & beans, mac & cheese with that golden top, roasted potatoes, candied yams, cabbage, broccoli in garlic butter sauce, and a green medley (spinach + kale + garlic). Everything tastes homemade but elevated. The greens are garlicky, the mac is creamy, the jackfruit oxtail could fool a carnivore. Portions are hearty and the staff makes you feel like family. If you’re vegan (or just curious), this is a Brooklyn gem. Soul food with no compromise. 235 Malcolm X Blvd, Brooklyn

One of my favorite spots to go to in Brooklyn! I’m genuinely confused where all of these negative reviews are coming from. I eat here all the time and never have any major issues. The food is so good! Nourishing and filling without weighing you down and delicious. I’ve tried the jerk chick’n, brown stew chick’n, m’oxtail, fried oyster mushrooms and most of the sides - all delicious! The staff is very warm and accommodating! I wish I lived closer so I could enjoy this place regularly. Don’t hesitate! Give it a try!

My first time trying their food, I ordered from too good too go. I'm really glad I did. I picked up my food on a Friday around 7pm. Went smoothly, the lady at the counter was very kind. She asked me if I wanted anything, I told her to give me whatever she recommends/is available. She did not dissapoint, she gave me mixed veg/cabbage, fried chicken and sweet potato. Delish and affordable. A little sauce for the chicken next time would be chefs kiss maybe. Either way I'm impressed and will be coming back.
